Lesson 6 of 8

In this lesson

  • Distinguish pending, open and settled
  • Understand reserved stakes
  • Read a final history entry

Pending, open and settled describe different stages

A pending order is waiting for an activation condition. An open trade has started and is waiting for its closing time. A settled trade has a final result. These stages tell you which information is available to review.

Do not count a pending order as an entry or an open trade as a completed win. A price moving in your direction while an order is open is not its final result.

An activation condition starts a pending order

QUOBIN supports pending activation by a selected quote or time. Read the condition and selected account before scheduling. The opening price is recorded when the order activates.

A chart can pass through a level without making every chart-based assumption about execution correct. Review the actual order record instead of assuming a visual touch always represents your entry.

A pending stake is reserved

The stake is reserved when you place a pending order. It may reduce the available demo balance before a trade opens. Cancelling an order while it is still pending returns that reservation.

The cancellation control is for pending orders; it is not a promise that an already open trade can be reversed. If an order activates while you are trying to cancel, check its current status and the returned response.

Read the final record before writing a result

Match the account type, symbol, direction, amount, payout, opening time, entry price, expiry and closing price. Compare the final net result with the payout arithmetic from the previous lesson.

If a status or amount is unclear, keep the uncertainty in your notes and ask support. Avoid treating a balance movement by itself as proof of a trade’s outcome; other orders or a demo reset can also change the balance.

Your demo exercise

Try this at your own pace

  1. Identify the difference between pending and open orders in the terminal.
  2. On demo, schedule and cancel a pending example before it activates if you understand the controls.
  3. Review its final status and the virtual reservation separately from settled trade profit.

Select Demo Account before following any trading exercise.
